Famux

Privacy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

The privacy of your data — and it is your data, not ours — is a big deal to us. This policy says what Famux collects and why, when we access or disclose it, and what you can do about it. We never sell your data.

When we say Famux, we, our, or us, we mean Matthew Beasley, operating Famux from the United States. When we say the Services, we mean the Famux app and famux.com. When we say you, we mean the person who signs in, and the household that person belongs to.

What we collect and why

We collect only what the household needs in order to use Famux.

Your account. You sign in with Apple. Famux receives the name and email Apple shares, through Clerk, so the household can tell people apart. You can add a phone number and a photo. We store an account identifier for that login.

The household. A household can hold names, birthdays, phone numbers, pets, pet care notes, plans, chores, lists, meals, calendar events, chat, and photos someone chooses to send. People invited in can see what that household shares. A parent can add a child to the list. Famux does not ask a child to open an account.

Home. If you save a home address, we store it so the household can use that place for check-ins.

Location. Famux reads your location when you save Home, and while a check-in is on the way. It stops when you arrive or cancel. It does not track you in the background. Other people in the household see a location only during that trip. We do not sell location.

Alerts. Each person chooses which alerts to receive, and their own quiet hours. If the phone allows Famux alerts, a device token is stored so those alerts can be delivered. Turning a category off leaves it in the app and off the lock screen.

The plan. If the household subscribes, Apple bills the subscription. Famux stores which plan the household is on, and until when. We do not receive your card number.

AI. AI is not part of Famux today. Before you use the app, you choose whether to be included when it is. That choice is stored. If you stay out, your plans, chats, and check-ins will not be used for AI. You can change this in Notification preferences.

We do not show ads, and we do not use household information for tracking. We do not send marketing mail. If you write to support, we keep that correspondence so we can answer you.

When we access or disclose your information

To run Famux. Clerk handles sign-in. Apple handles Continue with Apple, App Store subscriptions, and the check-in map on the device. If alerts are allowed, Expo delivers them. The app and its database are hosted for Famux. These services run Famux. They are not a way to sell the household.

When you ask for help. Famux does not read a household’s plans or chat unless you ask for help with a problem. We look for the smallest amount that answers the question.

To enforce the rules. If we have to look into a violation of the use restrictions, we may review the account involved. We would rather not. We will tell you when the law allows it.

When the law requires it. Famux is operated from the United States and the data is stored in the United States. We disclose household information only when a binding legal process requires it, or in a rare emergency where someone is at risk of serious harm. If a disclosure is required, we tell you when the law allows it. A tax authority may require billing records. If that happens, we share only what that audit needs.

If Famux is ever transferred to someone else, we will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what we hold about you.

  • Correct it.

  • Delete your login, which is already in the app under Settings, then Account.

  • Give you a copy of the account information we hold. Shared plans and messages stay with the household.

  • Object to a use that is not required to run Famux.

We do not charge a different price or give worse support because you asked. Deleting the only login on a household closes that household, because the app cannot run without it.

If you are a California resident, we do not sell or share personal information for advertising. We have not done so. We do not use sensitive information for purposes you can opt out of under California law. To send a request, use the support address on the Support page. If someone writes for you, we need a signed note from the account holder first.

How we secure your data

Data is sent over HTTPS. The sign-in token stays in the device’s secure storage. Apple processes the subscription payment. We do not claim a perfect record, a private data center, or encryption beyond what the host and the app actually provide.

Deleting your login

Delete my login is in Settings, under Account. It removes your sign-in and the email stored for it. If you are the only person in the household, the household and what it holds are deleted from the app. If other people are in the household, your name can remain on the list, shared plans and messages stay with them, and another person becomes the owner if you were the owner.

Canceling a Plus or Circles subscription is separate. That is described on the cancellation page. Apple keeps the payment record under its own policy.

Where it is stored

Famux is operated from the United States. If you are somewhere else, the information you add is still processed in the United States.
